Wireless HDTV developer wins funding boost

A company bidding to create a standard semiconductor interface for wireless streaming of HDTV has raised $15m of investment capital in its latest round of funding.

Israel-based Amimon is a founding member of the Wireless Home Digital Interface (WHDI) consortium of companies set up to define a standard for a wireless equivalent of the HDMI video interface.

The aim of the WHDI standard is to support the wireless streaming of uncompressed 1080p/60Hz HD video.
